2021 marks the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia International Records, and an anniversary box set will be released this spring to celebrate the influential label. Founded by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff in 1971, Philadelphia International Records is now poised to release an exclusive 50th anniversary vinyl box set as well as several CD sets to commemorate 50 years of hit making.
Each set will contain a unique giant poster, exclusive 12" single, endorsed numbered certificate, a lavish 48-page hardcover book with a comprehensive archive of rare photographs compiled and curated in association with artists, engineers, and producers relevant to the label's story.
Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff let the scale of their ambitions be known in 1971 with the middle name of their new label, Philadelphia International Records.
